After recovering from a serious car accident that led me into a year of chiropractic and physical therapy - little did I know this event would change my life. I graduated from the National Holistic Institute a few years later in 2002.
Yoga, meditation and massage is what helped me recover - physically, mentally and emotionally stronger than before and continues to be my holy trinity as I navigate through this practice of being human.
I have been a caregiver all my life. From caring for my grandmother with cancer as a young child, to taking care of my mother in my early 20's recovering from heart surgery, then working as a caregiver to a quadriplegic person while in college, working in various hospitals, caring for sick friends who have been hospitalized, etc.
Being a caregiver is the core of who I have always been and I am grateful to be of service to all of those in need.
I love to pamper my clients with spa-like treatments while still providing deep effective bodywork that is also relaxing!
I specialize in utilizing a flow of Swedish relaxation techniques, Ashiatsu barefoot skills, Thai massage stretching and acupressure meridian work based in Chinese medicine all while using your preferred amount of pressure. My style of bodywork has been described as a relaxing yet very deep tissue massage with yoga-like stretching with the flow and meditativeness of Qi-gong.
As a certified yoga teacher, meridian yoga therapist and Zen Buddhist practitioner, I love to share simple meditation and breathing techniques and help educate you with easy at home stretches to ensure proper alignment and posture - resulting in healing and preventing new injuries, both physically and emotionally.
As a empathetic queer person and trauma survivor, I understand that ALL bodies deserve bodywork and self care. With my experience, I have the skills in modifying for your unique body, comfort and safety. I will always listen to your needs and respect your limitations, regardless of what body you are in.
I enjoy cooking up new recipes, learning ASL, plein air painting, yin yoga, elaborate picnics, drinking tea in the forest and reading with cats.
